Construction projects in New York City must be approved by the Department of Buildings (DOB).

Architects and engineers must submit diagrams that indicate the size and scale of construction projects. The diagrams will be posted online. The public has 45 calendar days from the date of zoning approval to review the job and to challenge the zoning approval of the job.
