Coronavirus (COVID-19) Alert

Indoor and group activities at senior centers are allowed to resume starting June 14, 2021. Senior centers were allowed to resume outdoor activities on June 1, 2021.

All participants are required to wear a face covering and maintain a social distance of at least six feet apart.

Contact your local senior center for more information and/or participation as not all will resume activities on this date.

The Department for the Aging’s Geriatric Mental Health program is providing adults 60 and older and their families with:

  • Mental health assessments and support
  • Individual, group, family, and couple’s psychotherapy

Services are available on-site in Senior Centers throughout the City’s 5 boroughs and are often provided by bilingual social workers.

Individuals do not need to be a member of a senior center, but the senior must be age 60 or older to receive mental health services in any of the participating senior centers.
