As part of the citywide response to the Coronavirus, Department of Buildings (DOB) customers are strongly encouraged to immediately limit the amount of walk-in traffic to DOB offices.

Manufacturers must get material and equipment acceptance from the Department of Buildings before they can use certain products in New York City.

The Agency will issue an approval number after testing the product to ensure it meets all Building Code regulations and standards.
