Coronavirus (COVID-19) Alert

The Health Department is currently reviewing all complaints and responding primarily to those that pose an imminent threat to public health or safety.

Non-emergency complaints will be logged and responded to when regular operations resume.

You can report a problem with a tattoo parlor, including complaints about:

Unsanitary conditions
Unlicensed tattoo artists
Not getting a consent form from an adult who requests a tattoo
Tattooing a minor

In New York State, it is illegal to tattoo children under age 18.

New York City does not currently regulate body piercing activities and complaints about body piercing are not accepted.

Report a tattoo parlor or artist is unsanitary or unlicensed.
