If you are issued a parking ticket, it will be placed on the vehicle at the time the violation is observed. Parking tickets can be handwritten or computer-printed.

Copies of printed tickets are usually available in the system within 5 business days. Copies of handwritten tickets can take 10 to 14 business days to be entered into the system, but could take longer. You can still pay or fight your violation even if it's not in the system.

If your vehicle is filmed driving, parking or standing in a bus lane or running a red light, you will be sent a Notice of Liability (NOL) in about 30 days. If your vehicle is filmed speeding in a school zone, you will get an NOL in about 14 days. NOLs include images of the observed violation.

If you lost or never received a parking ticket or NOL, you can get a copy.

Parking ticket copies are available:

Bus lane, red light, and speed camera violation NOL copies are only available by mail or at DOF Business Centers, but you can access violation information and review images and video online.

You can download a digital copy of a parking ticket online. Bus lane, red light, and speed camera Notices of Liability (NOL) aren’t viewable online.

To access a digital copy of a parking ticket, you first need to find it using the Department of Finance’s parking or camera violation online lookup.

You can look up your ticket using your ticket number. If you don’t have the number, you can still find it if you provide:

  • Your license plate number
  • The state that issued your license plate
  • The type of plate, such as passenger, commercial, or vanity

Through the NYC Parking Ticket Pay or Dispute App you can:

  • Access your parking and camera violation information
  • View payment history (up to 100 violations)
  • Download copies of parking tickets

Camera violation Notices of Liability (NOL) aren’t viewable on the app.

The app is available for both Android and iOS. You can get it at the App Store or Google Play.

To use the app, your device needs a data connection, either through Wi-Fi or a cellular data plan.

You can use the NYC Parking Ticket Pay or Dispute App on:

  • Android systems: Kitkat or later
  • iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch iOS 9 or later

You can get a copy of a parking ticket or camera violation in person at a DOF Business Center. No appointment is necessary, however you can schedule an appointment to ensure social distancing at the centers.

You must be the registered owner of the vehicle and should be prepared to provide your:

  • Full name
  • Current address
  • Plate number
  • State of registration
  • Ticket or Notice of Liability number and date issued (if known)

A nominal fee may apply if you are requesting copies of multiple tickets.

You can get a copy of a parking ticket or camera NOL by mail. If you need copies of multiple tickets, you must go in person to a DOF Business Center.

You can mail your violation copy request, but because of the time it takes to mail a request and receive a response, you shouldn't wait to receive your copy before making a payment or requesting a hearing. To avoid late penalties, it's recommended that you get a copy using a different method.

Your request by mail should include:

  • Full name
  • Current address
  • Plate number(s)
  • State(s) of registration
  • Ticket or Notice of Liability numbers and dates issued (if known)

You should indicate if the mailing address requested is different from the one on the notice or Department of Motor Vehicles registration.

For copies of camera NOLs, mail your request to:

A bus lane, red light, or speed camera Notice of Liability (NOL) includes images of the observed violation.

You can also view your camera violation photos and video (if available) online if you have the violation number and the personal PIN provided on the NOL.

If you need a printout of the status of your violations for employment or any other reason, you can request a violation history printout at a DOF Business Center. No appointment is necessary, however you can schedule an appointment to ensure social distancing at the centers.

You must be the registered vehicle owner and provide your:

  • Full name
  • Current address
  • Plate number
  • State of registration
  • Ticket or NOL numbers and date(s) issued (if you have them)

You should note if your current address is different from the one on your Department of Motor Vehicles registration.

One year after a parking ticket or violation has been paid, dismissed, or otherwise satisfied, the ticket information is archived and will no longer be available online.
